Sports Premium 2026 - 2027
We are committed to giving every child the opportunity to enjoy being active and to develop their skills, confidence and understanding of healthy, active lifestyles.
The Department for Education has announced changes to the way PE and school sport will be supported. The existing PE and Sport Premium is being replaced by a new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network, which is expected to be fully operational from spring 2027.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, there is currently no separate PE and Sport Premium allocation and schools are not required to publish an annual PE and Sport Premium spending report.
This does not change our commitment to providing a broad, high-quality programme of PE, sport and physical activity. We will continue to provide opportunities for pupils to:
- develop physical skills, fitness and confidence;
- take part in a range of sports and physical activities;
- enjoy being active both within and beyond PE lessons;
- develop teamwork, resilience, cooperation and positive attitudes;
- participate in competitive and inclusive sporting opportunities where appropriate; and
- understand the importance of physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.
We will continue to review and develop our PE, sport and physical activity provision to ensure it meets the needs of all our pupils, including those who may need additional support to participate.
We are also monitoring the Department for Education's guidance as the new arrangements are introduced and will respond to any further requirements.
