Lyfta

Lyfta is a collection of film based learning resources which will enable us to take our pupils on virtual trips around the world, exploring diverse cultures and meeting different people in captivating films. The carefully crafted learning experiences spark inspiration, open minds and expand horizons. Lyfta will support the development of our pupils expressive and effective communication skills, enabling them to have a greater understanding of global citizenship. Learning through this resource will also support our pupils’ personal, social and emotional development and enhance our Values Based Education curriculum.

We will use Lyfta on a weekly basis as part of assemblies and in class. These focussed sessions align with our School Values and will allow our children to have an increased understanding of cultural diversity and recognise how important it is to understand and respect others.

Our storyworlds lift students out of their everyday surroundings with transformative opportunities to explore different countries, languages, cultures and lived human experiences from all around the world.

Inside every Lyfta storyworld you can interact with 360° spaces, rich media, soundscapes and powerful documentaries.

Our award-winning storyworlds present people, places and perspectives from around the world to show diverse cultures and ways of life in an authentic and relatable way.

 

LYFTA: Our ultimate vision is that children will have digitally visited every country in the world by the time they leave school.

They will have met at least one human being from each of these countries; experienced different cultures, languages, jobs, roles and perspectives.

They will have seen hundreds of positive human stories modelling resilience, problem-solving, teamwork, and many other critical skills, values and competencies.

They will understand for themselves how interconnected and interdependent we are, and will have gained a deep awareness of their power and role in the world.
